Emmy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Loyal Blue’s Director of Education. She earned her undergraduate degree from Bates College and holds two master’s degrees, one in Education from Stanford University and another in Counseling from CSU East Bay.
Drawing from her background in education, Emmy brings a collaborative, growth-oriented approach to therapy. As a former high school teacher, she understands how to help clients build insight, develop new skills, and create lasting change. She tailors psychoeducation and therapeutic strategies to each person’s needs, using thoughtful questions and observations to help clients better understand themselves and develop practical tools they can carry beyond therapy.
Emmy also has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including TEAM-CBT certification under Dr. David Burns at Stanford University. This evidence-based approach allows her to support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, and other challenges. Combined with her broad clinical experience, Emmy works with people of all ages navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and other life stressors.
Throughout her career, Emmy has remained especially passionate about working with teens and college students. She understands the unique pressures of these formative years and creates a supportive space where young people feel understood and empowered. She also dedicates part of her practice to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals of all ages, helping clients express their authentic selves and build fulfilling lives aligned with their values and identity.
As Loyal Blue’s Director of Education, Emmy extends this passion beyond her clinical work by developing practice-wide trainings, overseeing the client resource library, and leading community outreach efforts.
Emmy is accepting clients of all ages for telehealth and in-person sessions with clients in California.
