Eric earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and his master’s degree in Counseling from Cal State East Bay. He brings extensive experience working with children and teens from diverse backgrounds. His work includes supporting clients facing trauma, depression, and anxiety. Known for his calm and patient demeanor, Eric connects easily with clients of all ages. His creativity, wide range of interests, and approachable style help clients feel comfortable. They also appreciate his sense of humor and unflappable personality.
After graduate school, Eric spent 14 years as a crisis and special services counselor at a local high school. During this time, he trained at Kaiser Permanente’s child and adolescent clinic. There, he worked with families, children on the autism spectrum, and adolescents with behavioral challenges. He later joined the Pleasanton Unified School District as a mental health therapist. In this role, he supported children and adolescents with learning disabilities and social-emotional concerns. He also worked closely with school personnel and families to address challenges together.
Although much of Eric’s career has focused on children and families, he now primarily supports young adults, couples, and individual adults at Loyal Blue. He understands the stress and constant adjustments that come with modern life. Eric provides steady, practical guidance to clients across many life stages. His experience with children and teens also gives him valuable insight into adult relationships. He helps clients build healthier relationships and strong foundations for themselves and their loved ones.
Eric brings warmth, humor, and an easygoing nature to therapy. He believes clients are the experts on their own lives. At the same time, he offers practical strategies that support their goals and values. His approach combines a developmental perspective with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. These approaches help clients strengthen coping skills and manage life’s challenges more effectively.
In addition to his clinical work, Eric serves as a licensed supervisor for Loyal Blue’s Associate Marriage and Family Therapist training program. Outside of therapy, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, especially on beach adventures. He also loves playing guitar, working out, watching movies, and attending live music events.
Eric is accepting accepting new clients, and available for in-person sessions as well as telehealth within the state of California.
