
Kennedy is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boston University, where she was a Division I track athlete. She holds dual Master’s degrees in Counseling and Forensic Psychology from Holy Names University.
Kennedy has advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy via the Feeling Good Institute. She is one of our therapists who has achieved the prestigious Level One TEAM-CBT certification. She also has specialized training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Early Childhood Mental Health from UCSF. She remains committed to ongoing education and professional development.
Kennedy embraces a warm and person-centered approach to therapy. She creates a safe and welcoming space for clients to express themselves authentically. In her work with children, Kennedy cultivates trust and compassion, guiding young clients through the intricacies of their emotions and relationships. She uses a combination of child-led play, art, and talk therapy techniques to nurture emotional awareness, self-esteem, social skills, and regulation.
Kennedy’s passion also extends to supporting individuals of all ages who are pursuing athletics and competition. Drawing from her own background as a former Division 1 college athlete, Kennedy understands high level competition and the balancing act and focus it requires. She brings relatable and supportive perspectives grounded in Solution-Focused and Mindfulness Therapy to help clients meet their goals.
Kennedy prioritizes building positive therapeutic relationships and collaborates closely with clients and families to understand their unique needs. She is committed to engaging children and families at their current stages in their journeys. She incorporates both culturally sensitive and trauma-informed/healing approaches into her care.
Kennedy’s journey in the mental health field began with her experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy. She focused on teaching new skills and creating tailored treatment plans to ensure the well-being of children on the autism spectrum. More recently, Kennedy has worked in schools and community clinics. She provides classroom consultation, family therapy, and facilitates Loyal Blue’s teen groups.
A Bay Area native, Kennedy enjoys fitness activities like running and hiking, spending time with her kittens, traveling with loved ones, trying new restaurants, and immersing herself in new hobbies and crafts.
Kennedy is accepting clients of all ages for tele-health and in-person sessions with clients in California.
