Telehealth addresses anxiety, depression, and relationship issues

Our online sessions are available to anyone in the state of California, via our secure platform hosted by Simple Practice. We are treat most presenting issues successfully using telehealth. This includes depression, anxiety, insomnia, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder spectrum), and relationship issues including couples counseling.

How Do Online Sessions Work?

You may inquire about online therapy via our submission form on our website. You will receive an invite to our patient portal to schedule and manage appointments. A link for the telehealth session is included in both the appointment reminder 48 hours before your appointment, as well as 10 minute prior to the session starting.

You may join from your phone or tablet (a free app from Simple Practice is needed to download), or without any app on a laptop or desktop by clicking the link.

Can Multiple People Join?

Yes, multiple people can use the same link to participate in family or couples therapy.

Is Telehealth As Effective As In Person Therapy?

As a therapy practice who cares deeply about effective outcomes, we make recommendations based on individual situations. There are multiple studies indicating that online therapy is an effective form of psychotherapy. We also believe that anything that increases a client’s ability to attend session is supportive of therapy’s goals.

For example, you may be slightly under the weather but still interested in meeting with your therapist. You may not be able to drive, or have obligations both before and after a convenient session time.

Who Should Not Use Online Therapy?

We find that in person therapy is better for younger children who need experiential approaches to express feelings.

Some couples therapy appears to be more effective in person, as the therapist can better evaluate body language. However, since couples may take awhile to seek therapy in the first place, the ability to meet via telehealth seems to outweigh any downsides.
